Small leaves grow out of a bud formed by the stipule, bud falls off leaving behind a characteristic interpetiolar ring.Glabrous ovate leaf.Tightly packed flowers, size of a marble are bourn all over a tree during a bloom. Flower cluster is on a long peduncle.Flowers are yellowish white with pleasant fragrance.Shape of a stigma is like a turban worn by bishops.Dark, hard fruiting heads appear after flowering. Fruits are aggregation of capsules. Fruits are not edible.
